Self Interview - Connections
Q. Your work appears to span many styles; what connects your pieces?
A. Each are a result of material exploration and experimenting; I am curious of what the material can do and what happens when combined with something else. They are also comprised of forms and patterns influenced by natural processes, types of growth, physics, weathering etc.
My practice is about exploring the world, making objects using techniques I have learnt with my experiment. I am grounded in the real world - I draw on the real world for inspiration and I return the pieces as art objects.
Metaphor enters here again - separately, each body of work may appear different, however my journey is to find connections between things - systems, forms, spiritual, physical and mental. This keeps the work and the process alive and forever changing.
